Liz Riley is at the Triton Gallery

Feltmaking and Textile Art Exhibition at the Tritton Gallery (9th - 13th September 2026)

A celebration of Feltmaking and Textile Art is taking place from the 9th September in the Tritton Gallery at Sledmere House.

The display brings together examples of feltmaking and textile work by Liz Riley, Lynn Comley and Sue Wood as well a Vivienne Morpeth. This exhibition highlights the versatility of felt as an artistic medium and also a celebration of Vivienne’s long-standing contribution to the development and teaching of contemporary feltmaking.

A lovely opportunity to see this work in the setting of Sledmere House.

Hobbit - The Story in Acrylic

A series of paintings inspired by the works of Tolkien...

My Scottish Adventure - There and Back Again (part one)

I had a dream about travelling around Scotland to sketch and paint the beautiful landscape. I fulfilled this dream in March 2023.

My Scottish Adventure (part two)

The first painting stop was Dunnottar Castle which is near Stonehaven on the East coast just below Aberdeen. I visited this castle briefly in 1999 and always wanted to come back. It is an unusual castle situated on a headland.

My Scottish Adventure (part three)

The next stage of my journey took me from Stonehaven via Ballater through the Cairngorms to Inverness and then onto Applecross on the west coast.

My Scottish Adventure (part four)

I left Applecross in the rain and headed north towards Torridon before going south to Lochcarron and then towards Plockton. I tried sketching but the rain was torrential…

My Scottish Adventure (part five)

I drove down to the Armadale ferry to leave for the mainland.
