I drove down to the Armadale ferry to leave for the mainland.
I sketched two studies looking out to Eigg and Muck
I was able to stop at various places on the way to take photographs of the Cullins. I also stopped at Sligachan Bridge before moving onto Broadford for breakfast. I then drove to Isle Ornsay to take more photographs and I also stopped at Torabhaig Distillery before driving through Armadale to the Aird of Sleat for more photographs across the water to Eigg.
The ferry took me to Mallaig on the mainland. I then drove south to Morar where I was to stay for two nights. I still had a couple of hours before dinner so I drove to Traigh Beach which we had visited previously in 2012. I sketched two studies looking out to Eigg and Muck before returning to my accommodation via Arisaig.

The following day I returned to Traigh Beach and was able to paint two pictures despite the cold wind.
I then discovered a beach, with a little help from a local, that we had visited twenty plus years previously. Camusdarach Beach is a hidden gem that I was able to quickly paint in my sketch book. Again with views of Eigg and Muck across the golden sands and blue sea.
My adventure was almost over as I waved Morar good bye and headed towards Glasgow. I had one last stop at Glenfinnan where I intended to eat my croissants for breakfast… Unfortunately I had not read the wrapper which stated that I needed to heat them as they were only partially cooked! I decided to walk up the path so that I could have a better view of the famous viaduct. I sketched a couple of views and I had been joined by many Harry Potter fans. We were rewarded with the view of the Jacobite steam train crossing the viaduct.
Leaving a very busy Glenfinnan I headed south to Fort William and then onto Glasgow… then home.
