Busy with Art.... Encouraging Creativity

The belief that creativity has the power to support wellbeing and personal resilience drives me to assist others..

My work is shaped by a belief that creativity has the power to support wellbeing, connection, and personal resilience. Through my own experience, I’ve found art to be a way of making sense of difficult moments as I can loose myself in my work as well as creating space for reflection, expression, and quiet rebuilding.

This understanding informs both my personal practice and my work with others. I aim to create environments where people feel at ease, without pressure or expectation, and where creativity can be explored in an open and accessible way. My journey has included supporting creative activities in schools, leading workshops within a bereavement group, and delivering sessions through NHS Social Prescribing in West Bridgford. I now continue this work at Long Acre Arts in Bingham. Here I facilitate workshops and help at Open House Mondays, where the focus is on shared experience, gentle encouragement, and the simple act of making.

Long Acre Arts is a welcoming, community-focused space where creativity is used to bring people together, nurture confidence, and support wellbeing. It offers an inclusive environment where anyone regardless of experience can explore art in a relaxed and supportive setting. As a Trustee, I am closely involved in shaping and delivering this vision by making creativity accessible and meaningful for others.

Alongside this work, I continue my practice through Langstrath-Arts and will share my work on Instagram (@andylowe_arts).
