Liz is a textile artist based on the beautiful North Yorkshire coast, where she specialises in the craft of feltmaking using traditional techniques from her garden studio. Her work blends her love of art with a passion for creating wearable pieces that are unique and stylish, but also practical enough for everyday use.
Liz is a member of:
The Society of Designer Craftsmen
The International Feltmakers Association
Heritage Crafts Makers Directory
The Yorkshire countryside and the coastline provide inspiration as she spends time observing the natural world to find the striking and unusual colour combinations, which defines her work. She uses a mix of hand-dyed wools, silks, and hand-spun yarns to create vibrant, textured blends that are the hallmark of true artisan felt.
Craft & Specialism
Liz has been experimenting with felt for over 12 years and led to turning this into a professional career in 2017. Liz particularly loves Nuno felting, a technique where she bonds wool with delicate fabrics. This allows her to create materials of different weights and strengths, which is perfect for everything from lightweight scarves to sturdy accessories. Liz is always exploring new ways to show off how versatile and beautiful natural wool can be.
Liz exhibits in galleries and events across the UK or you can contact her direct. The link to her website is shown below which will provide you with the latest information.
